              2G BSS & Transmission Field Engineer

 

                     Description:

  • Perform all kind of Operation and Maintenance on BSC and RBS.

  • Handling of Trouble Tickets received from other departments.

  • Perform daily routine Health Check of all BSCs.

  • Implement all Radio parameter changes requested by Optimization via GATS which is an Oracle Database designed to streamline the interaction between the Optimization team & O&M team.

  • Run Performance and Health check after re-parenting of sites.

  • Responsible for acceptance of new sites, definition and configuration in BSC.

  • Define the new 3G sites in the 2G NW to enable the 2G-3G cell reselection.

  • Integration or re-deployment of the VIP COW sites (Cell on Weel).

  • Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.

  • Help the customer to get more knowledge about telecom products by holding seminars and presentations of new or enhanced products and functionality.

  • Be involved in trial projects for new products & features.

                    

                     Qualification (formal education needed):

  • The 2G O&M Engineer should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years O&M experience on BSC/RBS and 3 years in telecommunication or related field.

                     Requested competence:

                     Extensive experience in relevant field.

 

 

3G Node B Engineer

 

Description:

  • Corrective  and preventive Maintenance of Node-B &Transmission Equipment.

  • Onsite troubleshooting of Node B,

  • Dispatch & Work Order handling.

  • Corrective & Preventive Maintenance.

  • Other assignment as directed.

  • Node B Scripts preparation.

  • Node B Test & Commissioning.

  • Antenna system test.

  • Coordinate with transmission engineer for the E1 readiness.

  • Coordinate with RNC engineer for site integration.

  • Troubleshooting Node B & RXI problematic.

  • Operation & Maintenance of Node B & RXI.

  • Coordinating with the Subcontractor for site completion & Integration.

  • Support the Drive test team for test drive after rehoming, i.e. PS & CS call.

  • Configuring & testing the new RXI and troubleshooting.

  • Involved in software & hardware upgrading preparation (E1 upgrading, IMA & HSDPA).

  • Support the activation, configuration, troubleshooting both software and hardware of new Node B sites and Provide element management functions.

  • Involve in site Pre PAT & PAT.

  • Spare part handling.

  • Node B's RBS with HSTX45

  • Responsibility also includes the verification and performing the relevant test protocols concerning antenna system which includes the return loss and VSWR.

  • Attend all MDT related tasks.

  • Outage Reporting.

  • Escalation of any deficiencies in the equipment.

  • Adherence to Processes.

Qualification (formal education needed):

  • Have a diploma within Telecommunication, Information Technology and Electronics or similar.

  • Have a minimum 2 years of experience in as a Field Operations Technician in a mobile 3G network environment.

Requested competence:

  • Must have in depth knowledge and Experience of Ericsson 3G Node-B (3206, 3202).

  • Must be logical and through when addressing, diagnosing and rectifying equipment faults.

  • Good knowledge of working on Ericsson equipment, has experience working on the BSC, BTC, RNC, Node B. must have experience on 2G and 3G.

  • Knowledge of Telecom networks.

  • Ericsson Safety regulations for Field Operations.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Good Team player.

  • Result oriented.

  • Flexible and responsive to changing work patterns and demands.

MSS/BSS Core Testing & Integration Engineer

 

Description:

  • Experience in integration MSC-s to others nodes with Sigtran method and GCP massages.

  • Should have experience in all different type of analysis like B. number, GTRC, SCCP, MTP etc.

  • Good Experience in APG 40 Start up, Sp change, IP changes for window NT.

  • Experience on Upgrade APG40 from Window NT to WINDOW 2003 and know how to change Fr-config, IP changes.

  • Start up APZ 212 40, APZ 212 50, MSC-s.

  • Experience in expansion live nodes example: add STM-1, RPP, and RPG etc...

  • Prove experience in live node upgrade example: R06B in all types of core nodes include BSC.

  • Able to trouble shoot startup nodes and to make sure test calls follow.

  • Experience to update DT on site on his own.

  • Responsible to carry out small project in term of technical co-ordination, assistance and implementing.

  • Familiars with tools to search for DOC, Solution in Primus, etc.

  • Very good experience in analysis with IN, VAS nodes example: Camel, RBT , VMS , SMS, Triggering table .

  • Fast learning person, Self supervision and Have a team sprit working environments.

  • Assist with the planning, preparation and completion of AXE nodes testing with Test procedures, preparation of Commissioning, Acceptance binders, ALEX, latest SW level dump, etc.

  • Perform Systems Integration.

  • Provide system support and fulfill customer requirements after the system is in service until hand over to O&M/support department.

 

Qualification (formal education needed):

  • The equivalent of university degree in the communication field. Have 3 years of AXE 810 testing experience.

Requested Competence:

  • Ability to trace and locate faults within AXE, Troubleshoot MSS system, including new products like MSC-S, Sigtran, APZ 212 40/50 and APG 40 c/2 (2003).

  • Good command of English language, oral and written. Arabic is a plus.

  • Competence to co-operate with managers, external and internal customers and understanding of their situation and needs.

  • Self independent.

 

PPAS/CS3 System Engineer

Description:           

  • Configure business aspects.

  • Configure and use customer care access.

  • Handle batch provisioning.

  • Perform housekeeping(purging, re-indexing, backup and restore).

  • Generate Database reports(using SQL).

  • Check  Ingres DB health.

  • Do Scripting in DCL under OPEN VMS.

  • Have hands on experience in MINSAT, IVR, SDP, PPAS, INS, CCN, AF, VS, AIR, PC, LB, SMAS & SCP.

  • Be able to trace and analysis, this requires a good knowledge in GSM traffic cases. 

  • Perform ss7 configuration.

  • Familiar with Solaris system administration, Linux and Solaris, scripting, Sun Volume Manager and Sun Trunking.

  • Knowledge in TCP/IP, FTP, SSH, DNS, NTP, EMAP,INAP,XML-RPC, LDAP, CAPv2, CAPv3, SRAP, SCAP, UCIP, VSIP, PAMI & POSI.

  • Familiar with Oracle, TAO and Apache web server.

  • Knowledge in TelORB operating system.

  • Attended or read carefully installation for PSL/INS, CCN, SDP, AIR, AF, VS, IVR and/or MINSAT.

  • Have hands on experience in Tariff handling including balance dependent tariff, BBAU, Accumulators, dedicated account, Community, MNP, and life cycle of a subscriber.

  • Familiar with GDM configuration on SMAS for CAP2 roaming.

  • Perform backup and restore.

Qualification (formal education needed):

  • University education within Telecommunication, Information Technology, Electronics or similar.

  • Telecommunication knowledge and at least basic knowledge of mobile telephony systems.

  • Experience (preferably above 5 years) in Prepaid systems & IN.

  • Good command of English language, oral and written.

Requested competence:

  • Good experience with Open VMS operating system, and DCL scripting.

  • Good Knowledge of Ingress database.

  • Knows SEMA PPAS 3.6 Daily maintenance routines, system house keeping.

  • Ability to troubleshoot system problems, know how to analyze Application, system and database log files.

  • Good knowledge of PPAS business configuration.

  • Good knowledge of PPS system ( SDP, IVR, SCP…)

Performance Engineer, Teletraffic group

Description:

  • To achieve and maintain a high level of the GSM Network Services, and ensuring high quality performance on all technical activities, the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.                                                                                                                                           

  • Provide effective and enough technical support for and continually seek for Core network quality improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signalling.

  • Develop routing scenarios for traffic, alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities.

  • Ensure routing on the NSS is perform base on standards and optimized when necessary.

  • Trigger when to add or reduce trunks capacity reaching threshold value.

  • Study impact on new features, software releases and hardware evolution on the network for current and medium term planning.

  • Plan Traffic and C7 signalling network based on concept and standard.

  • Benchmark Network on different layer of Core switching network.

  • Establish optimization Core networks KPI index.

  • Supports the development and deployment of network planning tools.

  • Prepare the needed reports whether occasionally or periodically.

  • Monitor the daily busy hour statistics.

  • Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the ASR, MHT, MCT, Handover, Location Update, Paging for whole GSM network by highlighting problems to the relevant department or issuing capacity requests whenever needed.

  • Discuss the National/International/VAS routing changes requests with his team leader.

  • Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.

  • Evaluate and adapt new methods and technologies regarding Core Network Optimization & Tuning.

  • Help the customer to get more knowledge about Ericsson’s products by holding seminars and presentations of new or enhanced products and functionality.

  • Ability to use the following tools: CHA, BO, OPS, AM, C7 analyzer.

  • Act as a mentor for the younger STC engineers.

Competence:

  • The Performance Engineer should have a good knowledge in the GSM field and Core networks, acquired through technical training and practical experience in Ericsson or another equivalent company.

Education:

  • The Performance Engineer should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 5 years in telecommunication field and 3 years Core network planning/optimization experience.
